The inaugural session of this prestigious event will be held at the historic Antigua Fábrica de Tabacos, a magnificent 18th-century building that now serves as the Rectorado of the University of Seville. This symbolic venue, rich in history and architectural beauty, perfectly embodies the fusion of tradition and modernity in this vibrant city.
The remaining sessions will be held at the cicCartuja Center, a research center founded in 1995 by the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Seville (US). The center is located within the Cartuja Scientific and Technological Park sited on Cartuja Island.

The main building of the University of Seville is known as the "Old Tobacco Factory", named for its original use. Built in the 18th century, Seville's tobacco factory was the largest industrial building in the world at the time and remained a tobacco factory until the 1950s. This building is also the setting for the renowned opera, Carmen, by Bizet. Carmen was a fictional worker in the tobacco factory, the original story being a novella by Prosper Mérimée. This building houses two of the university's faculties: the School of Literature and Philology, and the School of Geography and History.

cicCartuja is a research center, founded in 1995 by the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Seville (US), and is located in the Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT Cartuja). The cicCartuja is comprised of three joint institutes:
• Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF)
• Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMSE)
• Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ)
cicCartuja researchers work in diverse but related scientific fields at the interface between biology, chemistry and physics to approach projects from different angles and with complementary techniques. In fact, the interdisciplinary character is the hallmark of cicCartuja. Moreover, the US-CSIC joint nature of the three-institute staff allows cicCartuja to provide the highest-level training at the forefront of science, and to actively engage in an open dialogue with the public through a series of outreach and education activities.
